In news sure to make the day of pinball fans the world over, Zen Studios, developer ofPinball FX 3have purchased the rights to the classic Bally/Williams catalogue. The team plan to start pushing out digital recreations of some of the ’90s most fondly remembered pinball machines.
“Most of our developers grew up admiring Williams and Bally pinball machines” said Zsolt Kigyossy, Zen’s Managing Director. “We have a grand vision for what we can add to these amazing tables on gaming and mobile devices. We are dedicated to providing an amazing experience and new challenges for all players around the world!”
The first four tables on the books areFish Tales, The Getaway, Junk Yardand one of the most popular pinball machines of all time,Medieval Madness. Also spotted in the trailer below are manuals for other great titles such asTheater of Magic, Black Roseand the neon power ofCircus Voltaire.
Obviously, games such asTwilight Zone, The Addams Familyor my personal favourite,Bram Stoker’s Draculaare likely not on the cards right now, due to their separate licensing costs, but fingers crossed for the future.Pinball FX 3is an excellent pinball simulator, and it’s taken far too long for these licences to find their way into the hands of the perfect developer to do them justice.
