Conjuring universe officially a thing

Look, I know the wholeConjuringcinematic horror universe has been around for a bit now, but I wouldn’t have called it anything serious. The Nunchanged that. It’s now event cinema, not just another horror film. The movie’s $131 million global box office delivered the second largest September opening ever and it’s $53.5 million domestic box destroys any of the other films in the franchise easily.

It’s not those totals that make the CCU a thing, though, it’s the fact that people showed up even though the movie wasn’t that good. Not that all the films in the series have been that great, butThe Nunwas pretty weak aside from being pretty on the eyes. Still, people showed up. It was a testament to the power of the franchise. Folks are going to turn up when it’s connected toThe Conjuring.
