Who also happen to be the developer! What a twist!

Back in March,Call of Juarez: Gunslingerwas delisted from the PlayStation Store, Xbox Games Store and Steam. However, the game has now suddenly returned to theSteam storefront, with a 33% discount to boot.

It would appear this sudden departure and reappearance of the game was due to the rights of the series being acquired by the game’s developer, Techland, from its former publisher, Ubisoft. In a press release, Techland Publishing CPO Adam Lason had this to say:

As Techland Publishing moves forward as a leading publisher, we are delighted to welcomeCall of Juarez: Gunslingerto our publishing division. We would like to thank Ubisoft for its incredible work publishing theCall of Juarezgames. We’ll continue the great efforts of Ubisoft and support the fans of theCall of Juarezuniverse in the same dutiful and passionate way.”

Whether or not previousCall of Juarezgames will be available on various digital storefronts will “be shared at a later date.”

Personally, I’m just happy the series has a new lease on life. With the developers now owning the rights to the series, I can only hope we see a newCall of Juarezin the near future. Just as long as it’s not a follow-up toCall of Juarez: The Cartel…
