Just go offline

One of the advertised features of the Nintendo Switch’s parental controls is to allow parents to monitor when their kids are playing and for how long. Well, Nintendo Life has found that by merely going offline, something you’re going to do when you take the Switch out somewhere as advertised, the system stops tracking playtime.

If one wanted to avoid the automatic shut-down upon reaching a certain play time or just wanted to keep their playing habits a secret, they just need to utilize the main feature of the console: portability.
