Happy Quincea?era!
Fifteen years ago today, on July 18, 2025, the originalStarCraftlaunched on PC, setting in place a series of events that would lead up to the powerhouse it is now: gigantic competitive tournaments, gorgeoussingleplayercutscenes, and one of the biggest modding communities through custom maps.
I can still vividly remember waking up early for school just to get in some time with The Simpsons RPG before heading out to my bus stop. One time I actually managed to get to the end boss, Mr. Burns, as Homer. Problem was, Homer was a Firebat and Mr. Burns was a Guardian. For those out of the loop, the Guardian is a flying unit and the Firebat can only attack ground units. Man, was I bummed!

Anyway, if you want to celebrateStarCraft‘s birthday, you can earn three classic profile portraits on Battle.net by playing any type of online game between today and April 17. Just looking at those portraits now gives me a gigantic rush of nostalgia. I think I have the originalStarCraftstrategy guide around here somewhere…
you’re able to read all about the anniversary, the portraits, and more over onBlizzard’s blog post.
