Easter’s a good time for a religious crusade
At GDC, Triumph Studios showed the first pre-alpha gameplay footage ofAge of Wonders III.The Theocrat class was being showcased, and these holy chaps quickly embarked on a religious crusade against a poor, defenseless dragon and his chums. The scaly monster was obviously not very well, he was nothing but skin and bones, really, so beating him up seemed pretty mean.
As well as revealing a quick combat scenario, magical research options were demonstrated, with new spells being unlocked that allowed the Theocrats to do a bit of spring cleaning around their domain. The grass was looking a bit dirty, to be honest.
It’s looking pretty good, so far, apart from the unnecessary cruelty towards dragons, and I can’t wait to get my strategy-loving claws on it. We’ve gone far too long without a newAge of Wondersgame.
