Splatoon 3fans woke up to big news this morning. Afterinitially being slated for Spring 2024, the second wave of the game’s DLC is getting a bump up. It’s now scheduled to be released toward the end of next month.
Splatoon 3 Sider Orderis now confirmed to be heading our way on February 22. It’s included as part oftheSplatoon 3Expansion Pass. The pass consists of the already releasedInkopolisDLC and the upcomingSider Ordercontent. The Expansion Pass is currently listed at $24.99.
Today’s Side Order release date trailer looks like it purposely evokes aMatrixvibe. We see Agent 8 fall asleep on a train just as the screen starts to glitch. It then quickly becomes overwhelmed by falling symbols that’s quite similar to theMatrixseries’ green coding. We’ll have to wait and see whether the sci-fi series is alluded to any further in the upcoming DLC.
Inkopolisreintroduced the firstSplatoongame’s main hub as an explorable area. There were some minor changes to the environment, but nothing radical.Side Orderlooks to be a much meatier piece of new content.
Side Orderintroduces a new location in the Spire of Order. In this single-player campaign, players will experience a challenge tower of sorts. You’ll attempt to advance through the Spire of Order’s various floors by taking on wave after wave of oncoming enemies. Nintendo says the new content is meant to be played over and over.
More single-player content forthe “superb”Splatoon 3is certainly something to be excited about. We’ll see how it all comes together on February 22.
