Still three weeks away from the release ofInfinite Warfare, there is already scuttlebutt about the next rooty tooty point and shooty on deck. Next in line in the three-year cycle Activision has going is Sledgehammer, who last developedCall of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Prior to the release ofAdvanced Warfare, Sledgehammer was planning to create a third-personCall of Dutytitle calledFog of WarorVietnamthat was to be set in Laos and Cambodia where the Vietnam War spread into. That was canceled,but rumors rooting from IGN Spain have suggestedthey are going to make the next game in Vietnam.

There is no word on whether or not they would use any of the assets or work from the canceledFog of Wartitle or if they would make it third-person, but this would not be the first game in the series to be set in Vietnam — that title goes to the firstBlack Ops.

Vietnam has been done before. What the gaming world really needs is a AAA Korean War game. It’s not like games haven’t been in Korea, North or South, or featured North Koreans before. I once went to the Korean War Museum in Seoul, and there are somecrazyweapons they used back then!
