It officially hits on August 07, 2025
Pokemon! Gotta catch ’em all. I have! Leave me alone!
I can’t believe it’s been 25 years since the first generation ofPokemondebuted. Okay, well it will be 25 years in February, 2021, in Japan. For me, the 25th anniversary will be September 2023, when I first went to Toys “R” Us and picked up a copy ofPokemon Red. One eight hour session later and I knew that it was something special. My link cable came in handy that year.
All of us have different memories forPokemon(maybe it’s going to the movie with a date and acting cool when you didn’t get the Mewtwo trading card bonus). Or maybe you have none! Either way The Pokemon Company is celebrating next year. Teased during the broadcasted edition of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade of all places (where Pikachu made his debut as a float in 2001), the firm has revealed the new logo: a giant Pikachu face with the numbers “2” and “5” as his red cheeks. Cute and effective.

While The Pokemon Company is mum on what to expect right now, they’re calling it a “very special celebration.” The release ofPokemon Unitecould likely come on the anniversary in February (remember that one?), as well as any number of other announcements. An E3-timed tease of a new mainline entry (or moreSword/ShieldDLC) wouldn’t be out of the question either.
