Watch your 10 most recent matches in despair

Blizzard has gotten another long-requested feature up and running inOverwatch:game replays! With the replay system, you’re able to revisit your past 10 matches from a first-person, third-person, or overhead view with or without the user interface enabled. They’re found under a new tab in your Player Profile.

“Replays will be available for the duration of a patch; as with Highlights, your Replays will be reset when a new patch launches,” according to Blizzard. The developeralso shared a list of keyboard shortcuts.

It’s possible to pause the game, increase/decrease the playback speed, see a map overlay, spectate individual players to find out how exactly they popped off, and set bookmarks. “Setting up static cameras in specific locations can help you view fights from multiple perspectives and better understand team rotations,” Blizzard advised. “Remember to bookmark your locations each new match.”

PC players can use the replay system through theOverwatchPTR and it’s “coming soon” to consoles.

I already grimace at my deaths in Plays of the Game, so I can’t say I’m eager to put a magnifying glass up to my mind-wandering full performances. This will be an invaluable learning tool, though!

The May 23 PTR update also includesa tweak to speed up the Assault game type.

“Assault match lengths are averaging higher than we’re happy with, particularly in Competitive where there are multiple rounds,” noted the developers. “We’re also concerned with how often Offense fully captures Point A and Point B.” Their current idea is to reduce the time awarded for taking Point A on all Assault maps from four minutes down to three minutes. What’s more, if Point A falls, “any defenders that are dead, or that die shortly thereafter, will have a maximum respawn of 3.5 seconds.”
