Namco Bandai has released the first trailer for Ninja Theory’sEnslaved: Oddyssey to the West, and here it is.

So I’ll come out and say it — visually, the trailer doesn’t make the game look quite as impressive as Ninja Theory’s PlayStation 3-exclusive effort,Heavenly Sword. Not sure what it is yet.Heavenly Swordhad some beautiful art design, and it translated really well to both cinematics and gameplay. Not sure I’m feeling the lush, urban-jungle stuff inEnslaved… but it’s still one of my “most wanted” games of the year.

It’s likely I’ll get my chance to go hands-on with the game at E3 this year, and I simply can’t wait. But a short demo may not do the game justice; it sounds like Ninja Theory are serious about delivering a solid, narrative experience, having brought novelist and screenwriter Alex Garland on board for the project.

Oh, and robots. The game has robots in it. That’s always a plus.
