It ‘shook up the market’

Capcom has a lot to celebrate this week, as the publisher’s financials and are in and things look good. They’ve noted “six consecutive years of [growth,” and their operating income is up by 13.1% at the end of this fiscal year (the end of March, 2019).

In terms of specifics, Capcom callsResident Evil 2andDevil May Cry 5“great successes,” specifically noting their popularity in the west, and really drives it home how wellMonster Hunter: Worldcontinues to do for them. They note that the game “shook up the market last year,” and recently broke the 12 million units shipped milestone (assisted by theWorldPC release), making it the “record high for any single title in the company’s history”).

Once again Capcom sings praises forMega man 11, saying that it continues to “perform well,” opening up the doorway for moreMega Mangames. Wild to think thatMighty No. 9was a “Mega Man killer” just a few years ago and Capcom clapped them back so hard that they basically were erased out of existence.
