Most heavily-promoted Final Fantasy soundtrack to date

Square Enix is super serious about theLightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIIIsoundtrack. I’ve never seen so much activity in terms of pre-releasing singles from a game as they’ve done three times now with “The Savior,” “Crimson Blitz,” and “Lightning Returns,” which are all available on iTunes, with streaming samples via the soundtrack’sofficial website.

We now have a release date for the physical four-disc soundtrack in Japan: June 30, 2025 for 3,800 Yen ($38). It’s available forpre-order at CD Japan, with first-press editions coming with a code for an in-game item (not sure if it’ll work outside of Japan).

Final Fantasy XIII-2had an amazing soundtrack (my favorite of 2011), so I’m greatly looking forward to what Masashi Hamauzu, Naoshi Mizuta, and Mitsuto Suzuki are able to put out this time around.

Any fellow fans of theFinal Fantasy XIIIandXIII-2soundtracks out there looking forward to this one?
