Standalone follow-up Ascension coming to PC, PS4
Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence – Ascensionis a real mouthful, and you know what else? It’s leaving Japan on May 21, 2025. Koei Tecmo confirmed the localized PC and PlayStation 4 release today and passed along a whole mess of screenshots from the Sengoku-era grand strategy game.
Ascensionis a standalone expansion that builds on last year‘sSphere of Influence. Some of the additions, like siege and naval battles, are flashy;others, more subdued. Another big one is Officer Play, a system whereby you can rise the ranks as a lowly Warring States officer to eventually become a great lord.
This is a series I’ve always been intrigued by, even as a kid, but never knew where to start. It seems… overwhelming. I’ve been thinking of watchingKagemushaagain, so maybe that’ll get me in the spirit!
