Have you seenThe Banner Sagaon Kickstarter? Before you run off at my mention of the K-word, know that it has already surpassed its pledge goal (four times over), and more importantly, it looks ridiculously good. Turns out people want a well-animated turn-based RPG centered around a mature viking tale.

Having brought in so much extra funding, developer Stoic is expanding the scope of this project. First off, they’ve brought onJourneycomposer Austin Wintoryto score the game. The talent pool grows from there, with the inclusion of Kpow Audio (L.A. Noire) and Powerhouse Animation (Disney Epic Mickey,Starhawk).

Finally, Stoic will go beyond PC and Mac versions ofThe Banner Sagawith ports to iPad and Linux “within a reasonable time frame.” It’s worth pointing out that there’s still time to contribute and get a copy ofThe Banner Sagalined up for yourself in advance. This is how I like to see Kickstarter leveraged.
