If you’re upgrading from Switch 1 to Switch 2 and no longer need the old console or just want to play all of your games and data on the new one, there’s a handy and simple data transfer operation that you can do once you have both consoles next to each other.

Once you’re started, follow the directions on-screen for both devices and the the data transfer will begin. Once complete, unfortunately, you will have to then re-download any digital games that you had on the Switch 1 and transferred to the Switch 2, but your save data from all your games should be available on the Switch 2 now.
