Sales show no sign of samurai slowdown
Sucker Punch Productions’ acclaimed adventure titleGhost of Tsushimais edging ever closer to the 10 million sales mark, having shifted a hugely impressive 9.75 million copies since its initial release in the summer of 2020.
The new sales figures are noted as part of a wider stat report released by the developer, which details the number of times wannabe samurais have indulged in some of the title’s bloodthirsty, (and less bloodthirsty), activities over the course of the past two years. This period has seen an incredible 91.4 million Legends Mode missions played, a staggering 540.8 million Duels engaged, and — perhaps the most amazing stat of all — a huge 998.5 million pulse-pounding Standoffs.
Still, despite these bewildering sales numbers, the aforementioned stats are not the greatestGhost of Tsushimamilestones offered by the report. That title is bestowed upon the island’s own Good Boys — the foxes — which have been petted by players 75.18 million times. This is perhaps the most relatable of all the statistics, as the foxes are one of the few activities on Tsushima island that provides respite from all the violence and bloodletting. Glory be to the foxes. Here’s hoping that they make an appearance in the upcoming film adaptation.
