Do you know who PJ Berri is? He’s PaRappa the Rapper’s best friend. Think back to the bear with the half-open eyes and the crazy appetite (he probably smokes). He’s cranky, stupid, mumbly and hilarious, and I think he would make for a fantastic character for upcoming brawlerPlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Oh, and did you know he’s a part-time DJ?
In a gamescom meeting withAll-Starsdirector Omar Kendall earlier today, I casually mentioned that PJ would be a great addition to the roster. I expected that he wouldn’t know who I was talking about, but instead he laughed. I think I might have stumbled onto something here:
Me: “You’ve gotta get PJ Berri in there.”
Kendall looks at someone else in the meeting room and smiles, and then begins to laugh. I wasn’t sure if he was laughing at me, or if he thought I was talking about thefootball player.
Kendall, still smiling and unable to hide that I was onto something, said, “Stay tuned.”
I raised my eyebrows and laughed.
Kendall: “No, seriously. Stay tuned.”
I replied, “Well, I’m surprised enough that someone even knows who I’m talking about!”
Kendall opens his mouth to begin to say something, but then just smiles again.
“Stay tuned,” he repeated.
In some of the rumored leaked data files that went around a while ago, PJ Berri was one of the names mentioned. Somehow I doubt that he’ll be a playable character if he does make an appearance inAll-Stars, but I can dream, can’t I?
Regardless of what happens, this is stillone of the greatest pages on the internet. PJ Berri for life!
