With yesterday’s immense festivities regarding Destructoid’s birthday, I chose to hold off our Games of the Week until today. Let’s face it, who cares about videogames on a day where Mr. Destructoid turns two years old?
The above video isBleep’s epic credits rollfrom ourcelebratory tribute vid to Niero. The credits make me feel very proud to be part of such a diverse and crazy cast of people. I think it visually communicates the wealth of personality that the Destructoid staff exudes and shows us off as the cohesive unit of nutjobs that you don’t often get to understand when we’re just represented as a column of blog posts.

Destructoid is special. We’re not like other game blogs. We’re fun, and funny, and each one of the staff is a unique and strong personality with an instantly recognizable style. We get tips submitted to us that are sometimes labeled for an individual, because our fans (fans, not readers) know which of us is best suited for a story. Something chocobo related goes right to Colette, I’m usually suggested for political rantings and of course, if there are breasts involved, Hamza’s our man!
I don’t say this often, but I love you. Destructoid staff and the fans that have made us what we are, the ones who aren’tbloody retards— I love you. That’s my little slice of fellatio for Destructoid. Now onto our games of the week.

Dyson:Please in no way mention anything that I have said so far. Really. No really.
(I had no idea what Dyson was talking about, so I didn’t mention it)

Dale:I’m still going thorough the A,A,A motions ofBrawland getting my online battling fix inCuldcept Saga. I’m also working on myWild Arms XFreview for Destructoid. Early verdict? Incredible!
Gameboi:I still consider myself a greater fan of the singleplayer games, due the storytelling aspect of the experience, but this week has been all about multiplayer goodness. I’ve been jumping back and forth betweenCall of Duty 4,Unreal Tournament III, andHalo 3. I also squeezed in some time withSuper Smash Bros. Brawl, and I’m glad I did. Yes the game was completely overhyped. However, it’s still fun as hell to play.

Jim:Been playing the above-averagePataponwhich I somehow HATE because it is above-average. Gamers and their melodramatic reactions to reviews would make me laugh if I didn’t remember that some of them will get laid and have kids one day. I also had my first taste ofUnreal Tournament 3— the only decent thing I did at Play.com’s utter farce (report coming today). I won! Definitely picking that up when I can.
Chad:I finally finishedChibi-Robo: Park Patrol, and I really can’t say enough good things about it. I also spent some quality time with my pal Bonk inBonk 3: Bonk’s Big Adventureand put an ungodly amount of hours intoSuper Smash Bros. Brawl. I really love that game and think it has the early potential to be Game of the Year. Yeah, yeah, shut your trap, Chester! 🙂

Oh, one more thing: Jim is still ridiculously handsome.
Nick:I started spending some time with a preview build ofNBA Ballers: Chosen One(Xbox 360) this week, and I’m kind of digging the fast-paced arcade-style action. First impressions are that it feels like an easier to pick up and playNBA Street, which in the long run could either work for or against it. I’ll have to get some people over to check out the multiplayer which will be the real test. Anyone want to come by?
Despite Anthony’s bat-shit crazyCondemned 2score, I’m enjoying it so far. It has its fair share of flaws, but none (so far) seem so unforgivable that I couldn’t recommend it to anyone interested inaction and/or “survival horror” games. I finishedInsecticideearlier this week, so expect a review on Monday. I’m also enjoying the simple pleasures ofPuzzle Guzzleon the PSP and attempted (as a non-sports gamer) to playMLB 08: The Showon the PSP. What an experience … maybe I’ll write about it. There’s a crazy idea.

Samit:I finally got around to shipping off myRock Bandcontroller yesterday, so hopefully I’ll have my replacement by the time I get back to school from spring break. As for playing games, I finished slogging throughMLB 2K8for my uncontroversial review…and the rest of the week was spent with an even worse game:Trying Not To Fail Two Midterms. I’m trying to push it out of my mind, but it’s haunting my dreams …
Topher:I finally got to play someIkarugaon XBLA, as well as some other cool stuff likePirates vs Ninjas Dodgeball. I also played lots of very NOT cool stuff on XBLA, the release of which I am not looking forward to. These are dark times we live in.

Hamza:Played someGod of War: Chains of Olympus, tried to play Halo 3 on FNF Friday night but barely anyone showed up, and I played a TON of Capcom games likeStreet Fighter II HD Remixearlier in the week.
Grim:I bought the drum kit forRock Bandearlier this week, so most of my free time has been spent slowly progressing through the game on hard difficulty. It’s a shame the “skills” I learned fromDonkey Kongadidn’t transfer over toRock Band.

Colette:I’m playingSurvive a Week in Spain With Permanent Jet Lag. I can’t seem to beat the first boss.
