Good news

According to a recent update from id Software itself, both the PC and console editions ofDoomwill run at their maximum potential. That translates to a 1080p60 experience. In fact, lead programmer Billy Khan noted that their goal was to “be the best looking game at 1080p in 60fps.” This is partially influenced by the use of idTech 6, which makes that goal easier to achieve.

So yeah, there you have it. Multiplayer should be a lot smoother now that we know it’s running at its full potential, but the jury is out on whether or not people will play it. Bethesda-published games with competitive multiplayer elements aren’t really known for their long legs.
