After spending two years in theModern Warfarefranchise, Treyarch’sBlack Ops 6launches in October 2024, but will the weapons we’ve unlocked inMW2andMW3carry over to the new game andCoD‘s battle royaleWarzone?
WhenModern Warfare 3launched in Fall 2023, we didn’t just get the influx of new weapons that come with everyCall of Dutyrelease. We also got to use all the guns we had used inMW2as well, giving you over one hundred different weapons to choose from.

While this choice sounds good in theory,MW3feels a little bloated, with too many guns and hundreds of attachments for every single one. Fans have been clamoring for a more simplistic system, so willBlack Ops 6deliver the goods? Here’s what we know.
WillMW2andMW3weapons carry forward toBlack Ops 6?
No,MW2andMW3weapons will not be available inBlack Ops 6.This was confirmed by Activision and Treyarch, who stated that becauseBlack Ops 6is set in a different universe to theModern Warfarefranchise, and is set over 30 years in the past, it just wouldn’t make sense for modern guns to be available to use.
WillMW2andMW3weapons carry forward toWarzone?
Yes,MW2andMW3weapons will be available to use inWarzone. This is becauseWarzoneis separated out from the widerCall of Dutynarrative universe, and the battle royale won’t be linked toBlack Ops 6‘s campaign.
This means that when theBO6update launches forWarzone, you’ll not only have the existing guns that we have today, but all the new weapons from Treyarch’s title added into the mix too.

Black Ops 6launches on October 25, so look forward to a brand-new set of weapons when the game drops.
