The Wii version ofDead Risinghas taken some critical flack. The vast majority of it can be attributed to a lack of faith with the console’s hardware. We didn’t want to keep the zombies too slow, because if we made them too slow, it wouldn’t be much of an action game anymore. In that respect, we sped up some of the zombies.

On the technical side, Nakai said that shaders have replaced layering effects and the engine for the game is ”kind of” the one used forResident Evil: 4. Perhaps more importantly, the game has been built “from the ground up” for the Wii.
