Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.0 update is approaching to clean up the mess wrought by thelaunch release. This release is separate from the Phantom Liberty expansion that launchessoon after as the update focuses more on overhauling systems found in the base game.
Although both have been advertised alongside each other, they launch on separatedates, with the update coming on September 21. Anew trailerfor the update highlights therevamped police system, adding functioning police to the game so that committing crimeshas consequences. There’s even proper MaxTac implementation in case a rampage gets so extreme the NCPD believes V has gone cyberpsycho.

Other prominent features inCyberpunk 20772.0include a rebuilt cyberware system andretooled skill trees to better balance V’s capabilities. Hopefully, this version is the best as this marks the second time the skill trees have been redone.
Cyberpunk 2077has been on a long road to redemption since its disastrous 2020 launch. Thegame has always had its defenders, but the numerous bugs and missing features made it hardto enjoy.

Now that it’s becoming what it arguably should have been, the hype for it feels real again. Whilemore tempered than its original pre-release cycle,Cyberpunk 2077has become something tobe excited about again. It still has some bugs and issues, but not nearly to the same degree it used to have.
It’s a redemptive arc that places it along other initial disasters likeNo Man’s SkyorFinalFantasy XIVwhich eventually sorted itself out. Hopefully, this update will solidify itsplacement among titles that rose amidst the ashes.
