Everything comes to an end eventua-
Dark Souls 3is all anyone is talking about on qtoid for the past few weeks and yet it may or may not be the last title in the long fabledSoulsseries. From Software has flip-flopped a little, but Miyazaki certainly wants to end his involvement in the series as per his vision of the game. Which got us community managers thinking where we’ll go ifDark Soulsas we know it ends withDS3.
While there are a lot of well-known franchises that keep themselves alive with new releases every few years (Call of Duty, anything from Nintendo), there are, of course, more than a few series’ that have come to definitive ends (or never got past their initial proving grounds). Remember how we all felt when we enjoyedBanjo-Tooie,thenNuts & Bolts, came out? Or how about the greatest disappointment in my entire life? The fact that Clover Studios dissolved beforeViewtiful Joe 3ever even got off the ground.

For the Bloggers Wanted prompt of May, we’re talking about the finality of some of our favorite games. How does it make you feel that some franchises, likeMetal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, are the final book in their stories? Some games may never find their sequels. For instance,Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3may not get a sequel now as Capcom didn’t renew their license with Marvel.
You know what? Let’s dredge up some bad memories! Why not go back toMass Effect 3and talk about that end? SureMass Effect: Andromedais a thing, but the spirit of the topic is there with the end of Commander Shepard’s story and its multi-colored explosions.

To take part in our lovely bloggers wanted pool party, start a new blogand title it “All good things: [your blog title here]”. Talk about your favorite ends to video games, wishlists for non-existent sequels for long dormant IPs (Where have you goneVectorman?), or even how you wish a game series should’ve ended. The community cohort crew will be sizing up blogs and if we like it, you’ll see your blog on the front page!
