Pint-sized Iansan is one of the best 4-star support characters inGenshin Impact. As a Natlan character, she has access to some unique builds that let her support both Natlan and non-Natlan teams. Here are the best artifacts and weapons for Iansan.

Iansan’s best weapons

As a Polearm user, Iansan has two primary weapon options:Favonius LanceandTamayuratei no Ohanashi.Favonius Lance allows Iansan to generate some extra Energy for her team, as long as you build some CRIT Rate. Tamayuratei no Ohanashi is the event-exclusive weapon from the Enchanted Tales of the Mikawa Festival event inGenshin ImpactVersion 5.4. If you participated in the event, you got this Polearm for free, and it’s a good alternative if your Favonius Lance is occupied.

As for 5-star options, tryCalamity QuellerorSkyward Spine. If you can get over the opportunity cost of giving a 5-star weapon to a 4-star support character, Iansan benefits nicely from these weapons’ stats. Calamity Queller is an ATK stat stick, while Skyward Spine provides some Energy Recharge. If none of the above weapons are available to you, just use any Polearm you have with ATK or Energy Recharge.

Iansan’s best artifact sets

The go-to artifact set for Iansan is4pc Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City(a.k.a. Cinder City). As a Natlan character, Iansan has no trouble triggering Cinder City’s set bonus, buffing whatever element she has reacted with. In some teams, you might need to be careful with your rotations to ensure Iansanreacts with the correct element. As long as your main source of DPS is either Electro, Dendro, Pyro, Cryo, or Hydro, Cinder City will be the best artifact set for Iansan.

If your main source of DPS is Anemo or Geo, though, then Cinder City will not work. For these cases, you should equip4pc Noblesse Obligeinstead. As the go-to support set sinceGenshin Impact’srelease, Noblesse Oblige provides a team-wide 20% ATK buff when Iansan uses her Burst. This effect is easy to trigger and pretty widely applicable. If you’re building Iansan to support Xiao, then Noblesse Oblige is the way to go. Keep in mind, though, that you’ll have to build significantly more Energy Recharge with Noblesse Oblige than with Cinder City.

Artifact stats for Iansan

Once you’ve decided on your artifact set, these are the main stats you should look for:

Iansan’s team-wide ATK buff scales with her own ATK stat. To maximize her buff, you should aim for an ATK stat of around 2,600 at C0 and 3,200 at C6. Keep in mind that Iansan gains some ATK buffs herself from her Ascension 1 passive, so these numbers are easier to achieve than they look.

At the same time, it’s important to have enough Energy Recharge for Iansan to Burst every rotation. If using the Cinder City artifact set, having around 140-150% Energy Recharge should be fine. You can easily reach this amount with Favonius Lance and a few artifact rolls. If using Noblesse Oblige, though, Iansan’s Energy needs skyrocket to over 200%. In this scenario, you may need to sacrifice some ATK in exchange for an Energy Recharge sands.

If Iansan has Favonius Lance, I recommend a CRIT Rate circlet to increase the chances of generating extra Energy. You don’t need too much CRIT Rate since Iansan has three chances while on-field to score a CRIT hit. If you are not using Favonius Lance, go with an ATK circlet to maximize Iansan’s buff.
