With increased customization options inNBA 2K25‘s MyCareer mode, you can fine-tune the layup of your MyPlayer.

Irrespective of your build in MyCareer, layups will be an essential way to score some great baskets. It’s a perfect counter against defense when they’re pressurizing you outside the paint. By selecting the best layup animations in the game, you’ll be able to exploit the space left inside the D and get some easy baskets. As with jump shots, certain layup shots are undoubtedly better than the rest.

Best layup packages in NBA 2K25

Unlike jump shots and dunks, you can’t create customized animations. I would have loved a layup creator, as it’s equally creative and practical (tested with jump shots). But you can unlock custom layup packages and equip them in MyCareer. Here are some of the best ones you can use (based on your build).

As an additional note, the default options for swings and bigs are pretty good as well when you begin your journey.

At first, you might not find these animations inside the in-game store. You’ll need to reach a minimum attribute with layups for them to appear. Unlocking the animations doesn’t cost any VC, and you can equip them immediately after they become available.

Jump shots work very closely with layups, and in case you’re confused about the best options, make sure to check out our guide. It covers some of thebest available jump shot animationsfor all types of builds.
