More depressing layoff news – word has come in that Aspyr is cutting about 1/3 of its staff as a result of the failing economy.
Console gamers may not be familiar with Aspyr, but anyone who had a Mac growing up probably knows them well. Originally, they ported popular PC games like Civilization and The Sims to the Mac, and more recently have been bringing console games to both Mac and PC.
There are few things that would suck more than losing your job right before Christmas. Let’s hope the laid-off employees get back on their feet quickly, and that Aspyr manages to stay afloat instead of closing entirely.
