What monsters will be in Monster Hunter Wilds?

At the time of writing, Capcom has confirmed the following monsters inMonster Hunter Wilds, including known habitats:

Most creatures have already been established in the Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest, and Oilwell Basin ecosystems. However, a few of them have unknown habitats that may be unveiled closer to thegame’s release. Let’s break them all down to give you a better understanding of each confirmed monster inMonster Hunter Wilds.

Rompopolo in MHW

Rompopolo

Rompopolo is a brute wyvern that lingers in areas of deep oil silt. The monster utilizes a toxic gas spray with its tongue and tail. Watch out for its explosive attacks that trigger from the ground.

Ajarakun

The fanged beast, Ajarakan, is a master of agility, swiftly moving around the battlefield using its claws. This monster has similar features to that of the Black Flame, harnessing the element of fire. When it powers up, the creature emits a molten-like effect, creating flames from its back.

The Black Flame

Monster Hunter Wild’sfifth trailergave us a sneak peek into the Black Flame’s combat strategy. This colossal creature unleashes a deadly, fiery attack, grabbing anyone who stands in its way with its tentacle-like arms. Given its brute force, it seems more potent than the other two Oilwell Basin enemies.

All Scarlet Forest monsters

Uth Duna

Uth Dunda is a leviathan apex predator that lingers around water-rich environments. It tends to show up more frequently during Downpour storms, taking advantage of the moisture to produce a protective veil.

Lala Barina

The Lala Barina falls under the arachnoid species Temnoceran, introduced inMonster Hunter 4.When its thorax is open, it almost resembles a rose blooming. However, don’t be fooled by its beauty; it proves fatal when getting too close.

Congalala

The fluffy fanged beast, Congalala, fromMonster Hunter 2, makes a triumphant return in the latest iteration. Its hysterical farting tactic, a signature move from its predecessor, is back to challenge and potentially blow away your entire team.

All Windward Plains monsters

Balahara

Embark on a desert adventure to encounter the leviathan, Balahara. This cunning monster, known for its quicksand traps, can turn your exploration into a tense battle. The surprise element of its traps, triggering an unexpected attack on those who fall victim, adds a thrilling tension to your encounters.

Quematrice

Like the Rompopolo, Quematrice is a brute wyvern with fiery strikes. Its extended tail can lay a flammable substance on the ground to inflict damage on your team. The monster often fights against smaller creatures around Windward Plains.

Doshaguma

During thePlayStation State of Play 2024, we got our first look at the fanged beast Doshaguma. The lion-like creature is the deadliest when standing on its two legs, resulting in a damaging claw strike. Moreover, the Doshaguman can sometimes come in packs, making them stronger together.

Chatacabra

The Chatacabra’s tongue is a lethal weapon, enhancing its combat strategy. The monster’s saliva, with its stone-inducing effect, makes its forelimb attacks even more dangerous by furthering its power.

Rey Dau

While exploring the Windward Plains, you may come face to face with the Rey Dau, a formidable apex predator that soars high in the sky. The Rey Dau’s electric powers, a result of its unique adaptation to storms, could potentially zap you out of existence.

Ceratonoth

Male Ceratonoths take center stage in large herds, protecting females from lightning. They utilize their dorsal horns to take in lightning strikes and unleash them onto the ground.

Dalthydon

Even though the Dalthydon is a small herbivorous wyvern, it can still pack a punch with its defensive head shell. The beast occasionally changes its habitats, so you may not always find it in the same place.

All monsters with unknown habitats

Rathalos

Considering that the Rathalos has appeared in everyMHentry, it’s no surprise to see it inMonster Hunter Wilds.you may briefly see this flying wyvern at the end of thereveal trailer, confirming the King of the Skies comeback.

Rathian

Rathalos isn’t the only returning creature with the reveal of the Queen of the Land, Rathian. As a flying wyvern, it unleashes a flame-filled attack, hitting you with multiple blasts. There could potentially be other types of strikes in the newest version, but we’ll have to see how it’ll play out.

Yian Kut-Ku

The Yian Kut-Ku is one of the last known returning monsters ofMonster Hunter Wilds. This bird wyvern often travels in packs, spouting out lava-like projectiles from its mouth. You must always be on the move with these creatures to reduce the risk of encountering flammable attacks.

Arkveld (The White Wraith)

The Arkveld, also known as the “White Wraith,” makes its debut inMonster Hunter Wilds. This scaly creature was presumed to be extinct, but now it’s confirmed to be alive and well in the latest entry. Unlike most on this list, there’s not much information regarding this monster, so its habitat remains a mystery.

Seikret

The Seikret species is the newest mount introduced inMonster Hunter Wilds.Given that it is a flying wyvern, it can glide you around the Forbidden Lands to reach higher places. It also has a superb sense of smell that takes you to places you’ve marked automatically.

Gypceros

TheMonster Hunter WildsOpen Beta 2announcement revealed the return of the bird wyvern, Gypceros. The creature has been with the franchise since the beginning, with the first-everMHinstallment. If you want to familiarize yourself with this wyvern,participate in the beta testingin early February.
