PS1 classic Mr. Driller gets delisted from PSN store

But only in the US File this under the “completely random” column, but PS1 classicMr. Drillerhas been delisted from the PSN store on PS3. Why is anyone’s guess, but even more curious is that only the North American version has gone missing (the title was never made available in Europe). Japanese gamers can still grabthe gameand its second sequel,Mr. Driller G, without issue. This could be an issue with licensing, but I can’t say for certain....

Retro Centipede ad gives Kafka wood

The above ad comes courtesy ofWired’s Game|Life blog, and it proves the old adage “sex sells, but making obtuse references to the works of Franz Kafka sells more”. How did we go from ads like the above piece of awesome, to the creepy, meta babys-as-demonsspots Sony is pushing on us today? I can only assume it has to do with the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the subsequent modernization of the German politico-economic infrastructure....

Rumor: Art hints at the direction of Assassin’s Creed III

An employee of Best Buy sent Kotaku this artwork forAssassin’s Creed III, which suggests that we’ll be playing as a Native American charactercome this October. And, going a step further, that this game will at least partially revolve around the American Revolution. It sounds like Ubisoft has an announcement planned for March 5, so it shouldn’t be long until we hear what’s what from the powers that be. While a slower release schedule for the series wouldn’t have hurt my feelings, the possibilities for the narrative here are exciting, and I’m not generally the patient type....

Sean Bean will voice more than the trailer for Civilization VI

Can the narrator die? I think Sean Bean may have finally found himself a project where he can’t possibly suffer a gruesome on-screen death — the narrator inCivilization 6. PC Gamer has confirmed that Bean is not just the presenter forthe game’s official reveal trailer. He’ll actually provide the narration for the game’s tech tree quotes, which you can get a glimpse of below. It’s not the most spirited performance ever, but it’s good enough for me!...
