Don’t write off Dragon Quest Builders just yet

Interest rising That first image ofDragon Quest Builders(PS3, PS4, PS Vita) didn’t do much for me. “Huh?Dragon Questthrough the lens ofMinecraft? Uhh, okay.” closes tab These latest screenshots are more substantial. The “Camp” bar in the HUD is intriguing, as is the thought of putting down spikes to keep slimes at bay. The small player-built town is cute. Actually, the more I think about what’s possible for this game, the more open-minded I become....

Fallout 4 Vegas is a re-creation of the best modern Fallout game with Fallout 4’s engine

Vegas <3 Fallout 4just didn’t have the same wasteland charm asNew Vegas. A lot of that had to do with Obsidian’s script and penchant for weirdness, but the setting, hardcore options from the get-go, and engaging questlines helped. A lot of folks feel like that legacy is worth preserving, like the team that’s handling the Fallout 4: New Vegas project. In short, it’s a re-creation ofNew VegasinFallout 4‘s engine, bringing the game into even more of a modern scope, and you’re able to get a look at the latest footage below....

FIFA 16 shown off, Pele told us nothing about it

In a slightly strange twist of events at the EA E3 conference, football (soccer if you’rewrong) legend Pele took to the stage to mumble incoherently about the sport. Seriously, we’ve been watching Pele talk for about ten minutes before actually seeinganythingto do withFIFA 16. It’s strangely relaxing after the onslaught of mobile and sport games, a nice safe haven. After this just utterly bizarre moment, EA showed off some of the tweaks it will be bringing toFIFA 16,including no-touch dribbling....

For lovers and fighters: Mass Effect Andromeda’s full trophy list revealed

More fighting than loving, though Mass Effect Andromeda‘s complete list of achievements/trophies has recently leaked and things look slightly askew. Of the game’s 56 singled-out accomplishments, 16 are for specific combat scenarios and only 1 of them is for humping. This is how intergalactic wars are started. And to even get that one trophy, you’ll have to do three times the humping that you had to in other games. The “Matchmaker” trophy is for completing three romances across any number of playthroughs (although it’s not clear how many partners you may romance in a single play)....

GAME not quite dead yet but it’s definitely looking pale

GAME,the failing UK videogame retailer, has not been having a good year so far. A string of major releases never appeared on the shop’s shelves, preoders were cancelled and things were looking gloomy. The GAME Group needed £180 million or it would go into administration. I went to a couple of my local shops last week to see if they’d gone post apocalyptic yet. They had. They were slashing prices everywhere, but the deals still weren’t particularly good compared to their online competition and lots of the most popular games were absent entirely....

Get your ‘Rolls in bed’ Mega Man art on a mug or a puzzle

I’m constantly defending Japanese art and videogames to my friends. For instance, you know that scene inMy Neighbor Totoro(1:56) where Mei and Satsuki are taking a bath with their Dad? Every time I watch that movie with someone who’s never seen it before, I have to explain that “No, this movie does not have a pro-pedophilia agenda. There’s nothing sexual going on here. Don’t project your weirdness on to one of the most innocent, good natured movies ever made”....
