E3: PSone Classics are still coming to the Vita!

Today at the 2012 Sony press conference, CEO Jack Tretton confirmed that PSone Classic support will still be coming to the Vita. Tretton didn’t elaborate beyond that, or give any real release date outside of “summer 2012,” but he citedTomb RaiderandFinal Fantasy VIIas “great PSOne classics.” While it would have been nice to get a concrete date, at least we know they’re still working on it. In fact, it was one of the main reasons I bought a Vita, and I was started to get fairly impatient regarding any sort of announcement!...

Ex-Midway producer accuses execs of forcing multiplayer

Getting the most out of your PlayStation 3 in 2018

[We ran this in February, but we loved it so much we bumped it again for those who missed it. Enjoy! -Niero] The figures are out, and the PlayStation 4 is alreadyclose to catching upwith the PlayStation 3 when it comes to lifetimes sales. We’re reaching peak PS4 time, with huge releases such asMonster Hunter: WorldandWolfenstein II: The New Colossuscoming to the console in the past few months. To be frank, we’re drowning in good current-gen games, so it’s probably time to sell old consoles to buy extra games, send slightly battered models off to the scrap heap, or simply leave them untouched, gathering dust, on the shelf....

Have an obnoxious, petty SimCity Social trailer

If you’re mentally subnormal, then Electronic Arts has a trailer that’s going to definitely appeal to your sensibilities. This video forSimCity Socialpromotes the Facebook game with a song so bad, it makes EA’s Christmas carol from last year look almost acceptable. Is the man singing meant to be a pirate? Why? As you can hear from the chorus, EA iscontinuing its planto contrive yet another industry rivalry with a company that will likely ignore the trash talk, making EA look petty and juvenile in the process....

I don’t know what ‘Green Monday’ is, but Amazon has videogame deals for it

Only suckers pay $60 for videogames I’m not sure why we need to keep designating official titles for different days to spur consumerism around the holidays. I mean, people need (and want) to buy stuff; they’ll spend money regardless. Black Friday’s fine. It’s been here the longest. Cyber Monday? Ehhh. “Green Monday?” That’s just ridiculous. But, it’s Green Monday anyway (I guess), so Amazon has some obligatory deals. There are some recent games that, if you had the self-restraint to just wait a month or two, are discounted fairly decently....
