Spider-Man 2: Why does JJJ hate the Spider-Men?

Of all of Spider-Man’s relationships, perhaps the most contentious is the one withPeter Parker’s sometime employer, J. Jonah Jameson. JJJ makes his vitriolic hate widely known, primarily through his paper,The Daily Bugle. However, why does this self-made newspaperman hate the wall-crawler so much? Why does a man with otherwise higher-than-average journalistic integrity have such a penchant for printing libel and subsequent retractions? Like any well-developed character, the answer is complicated....

Stop being dicks, online racers

Drive better I wouldn’t call myself a fan of racing games, per se.Dale’s a fan of racing games. I’m just kind of a curious bystander that likes to indulge every now and then. I think they act as sort of a palate cleanser for me, the pickled ginger at my videogame sushi party. Maybe the fact that I only have to worry about driving kind of recalibrates my brain after enough time spent playing games where there’s lots to keep track of....

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter makes a great case for VR when it’s not disorienting

Looking with the controller gives me a headache I have yet to finishThe Vanishing of Ethan Carter, which I picked up during its launch back in 2014, so I figured hopping into the brand newOculus Riftversion would be a good way to accomplish that. Barring some discomfort, it managed to draw me into the world a little more than the original release. For those who aren’t aware,Ethan Carteris a walking simulator of sorts that features a mysterious rural area called Red Valley, with plenty of occult themes in tow....

Ubisoft’s PC DRM is decidedly anti-soldier

It’s a shame everyone doesn’t live in a society where flying cars are the norm and affordable Internet is available at literally all possible locations. Perhaps then, Ubisoft’s newestform of DRM— which requires persistent online connectivity — wouldn’t be such a kick in the groin. Oh who am I kidding, of course it’d still be terrible. One of the groups most affected by this nonsense is soldiers. Writing in to Opposable Thumbs, one American soldier who is currently on duty in Iraq shared his experience with DRM....
