A new RPG is officially on the way with theannouncementofBreakers: Unlock the World. This one comes from Vic Game Studios, who plans to show it off at Tokyo Game Show 2023 later this month. For now we’ll have to make do with an announcement trailer. At 15 seconds long, it’s a teaser in every sense of the word. You may not get an idea of how this particular RPG plays, but you can see character models strolling by in the video below....

Registration open for Japanese beta Square Enix has released a new trailer for its upcoming mobile titleNieR Re[in]carnation, the latest entry in its haunting and ethereal series of man, monsters, and machines. As Nintendo packs up and heads out of Redmond, a few of Nintendo’s power players have decided to stay behind, Marketing VP George Harrison included. Nintendo is moving to hang out with the cool kids in San Francisco and New York, and it wasrumored earlier that Harrison and a few otherswould decline the relocation; now it looks like the rumors were true. “I have confirmed to all employees that I will be leaving at the end of December and not making the move to California,” Harrison toldReuters....

No Rest for the Wickedis a grim and tough action RPG from the folks who brought us theOrigames. It strikes a blend betweenDiabloandDark Souls, and those games can be better with friends. DoesNo Rest for the Wickedhave any multiplayer modes or co-op? There’s some good news and bad news regarding the subject. While Moon Studios is planning on including a multiplayer mode eventually,No Rest for the Wickeddoes not currently have a multiplayer or co-op mode....

… although it’s still very much a huge pain in the ass. The new tool in question de-authorizes any EA games released after May of 2008 (the ones shown above) so that you can better install said games on different machines or hard drives, etc. The concept isn’t exactlya new one, butthis tool willscan your system for any and all affected games rather than forcing you to individually download each tool per specific EA title....

Electronic Artshas announcedthat it will be shutting down online services for nearly thirty games, most of them sports titles, with a littleLord of the Ringsthrown in for good measure. Shutdowns include entries in theFIFA,Sims,Fight NightandNBA Livefranchises. “As background information, the EA SPORTS games scheduled for shutdown in February and March 2011 represent roughly 1% of all peak online players across all EA titles,” explains the publisher. “Despite some people’s perception, there is a lot of behind-the-scenes work involved with keeping these older games up and running....

The announcement ofBattlefield 4has had some gamers worried that online support forBattlefield 3will now erode — and they probably have a good reason to worry if they spent more than the price of the game on DLC and premium services. Down, down-right, right, theft Word on the ground atEVOis a PlayStation Vita has gone missing from Atlus USA’s booth. Thing is, the hijacked machine happens to be a traceable dev kit, which can be deactivated remotely. The exhibitors say “all will be forgiven” if the Vita is returned, pointing out the hardware won’t play retail games and will eventually be rendered useless without periodic reactivation. Even still, it’s difficult to imagine whatever gormless individual that made off with the portable has the humility to return to the scene, look Atlus in the eye, and own up the crime....
